THE INITIATOR WORK
An inspiring seminar
For founders of organisations, projects & enterprises
Facilitated by:
Peter KOENIG and Diana RITCHIE
Workshop leader
Peter Koenig
Peter has studied the phenomenology of money since the early 1980s, giving presentations and performing original research with small groups. Following an MBA in Geneva, Peter ran a business providing management training, leadership and strategic development processes for companies. The stimulus for his monetary research began through observing the arbitrary effects of financial tools used in the context of these activities. In 1987 he became an independent financial and organisational consultant to companies and non-profit organisations. In 1994 he launched his first public Money work seminar and in 1999 he initiated a new international conference series on Money & Business Partnership.
Workshop Initiator
Diana Ritchie
Diana Ritchie has studied the phenomenology of being for the last 15 years, starting with Sophrology then establishing SCC Sàrl in 2007 where she continues to work with individuals, organisations and corporation around new models of human resource management, entrepreneurship, personal growth and career continuation. Diana shares her multidisciplinary know how through consulting, coaching, training and advisory services. As a master class 2014 graduate of the Peter Koenig system, Diana presented her first Money seminar entitled “Our relationship with Money” at the WIN conference (www.winconference.net) in Berlin, October 2014. In 2015, several workshops are organised, as well as, group coaching and company counseling.
Who is this workshop designed for?
For all those with questions like
- What is the purpose of a company?
- How to best design a company that ensures the passion of the initiator remains and that each member of the organisation knows why they are there.
- How can a company be organised through a hierarchy of purpose and not hierarchy of power?
- What is my personal purpose within a company?
- How do I motivate my team, how do I encourage innovation.
- How to attract sub-initiators to your project?
- Can companies actually merge? Is there such a thing as co-founders?
- How can you successfully replace a CEO, a team head, a project leader or other members?
- What is the difference between an Initiator and a leader?
- How do you manage succession planning?
For all those who are
- Founders of a company, an organisation, project, community group or team. Public and Private.
- Start-up initiators, investors and consultants, and entrepreneurs.
- Mergers & Acquisitions leaders and consultants.
- Sales and business development managers.
- MBA, HR, OD, psychology, strategy professors.

The Initiator Work
Objectives
The objective of the workshop is for participants to explore an innovative and new management theory and practice that identifies and recognises the passion, energy and ideas of the Initiator of an organisation, project, team, community group or business.
You will explore
- The characteristics that clearly enable everyone to identify who the present Initiator of an entity (enterprise, organisation or project) is.
- The activities, responsibilities and privileges, which belong or do not belong to this role.
- The relationship dynamics between Initiators and their next-in-line. Applying this understanding throughout the organisation.
- How to change the dynamics without necessarily altering the organisational structure?
- How to remain in touch with one’s own ‘Initiator energy’ while everything else is going on.
- Which decisions are best made by the Initiator and which are not.
- The art of collaboration between Initiator-persons.
- The distinction between ‘Initiator’ and ‘Leadership’ roles.
- The factors related to Initiator-persons that are crucial for succession processes.
- By understanding and following the principles that underpin the role of the Initiator it’s possible to unravel the origins of unproductive dynamics, then identify leverage points for making quick and simple corrections that restore healthy flow and high energy to teams, enterprises and organisations.
How we explore
We work with the practices of dialogue and enquiry, as we respond to a series of provocative inputs. The group is invited to explore and share their reactions, and their personal experience of being involved in founding projects, organisations and community groups.
All the conversations and dialogues are confidential and conducted with the necessary care and integrity.
Description
This method is part of the Peter Koenig System, a result of 14 years of research into the role of the Initiator and the dynamics of the founding energy. Through a series of exploratory conversations we share real life experiences to help projects, groups and organisations thrive and resolve relational and operational difficulties in a sustainable way.
Outcome
By understanding and following the principles that underpin the role of the Initiator it’s possible to unravel the origins of unproductive dynamics, then identify leverage points for making quick and simple corrections that restore healthy flow and high energy to teams, enterprises and organisations.
“Power conflicts are usually accepted as a normal part of corporate life, yet everyone knows they lead to considerable waste and loss of precious time, energy and other resources. New research shows that three quarters of these are not directly related to the particularities of the individuals involved but inadvertently sown into the company systems and culture by the original founding group; then passed on to the successors.”
